5 Moose Shot on Private Land and Out of Season Near Pierceland

On Friday, October 7th, 2016 Pierceland Conservation Officers received a call of multiple moose that had been shot on private land and out of season. The land location is NE-15-61-25-W3, located 10 miles south of Pierceland on Highway 21. Conservation Officers investigated and found 5 moose gut piles. It is believed the offences took place between the morning of October 5th and morning of October 7th. Information received was that a newer grey Ford F150 was seen in the area.

Moose Left to Waste in the Stewart Lake Road Corridor

On Wednesday the 14th of September 2016 Conservation Officers on patrol located the remains of a moose carcass that had been shot in the Stewart Lake Road Corridor. The kill site was at approximately kilometer 6 on the Stewart Lake Road. Not all of the meat from the animal was taken. The animal was shot earlier that day or the day before. Evidence was collected at the scene including a newer, driver side GMC mud flap.
